TEENAGE keeper Andrew Duncan says he's ready to make his first start for Airdrie tonight.

The 19-year-old could make his full debut for the Diamonds when they travel to Arbroath for a crunch SFL2 clash.

​

Duncan came off the bench on Saturday during the 2-0 defeat to East Fife after on-loan Rangers keeper Grant Adam was controversially red-carded.

​

And the former Dumbarton youth, who comes from Barrhead, has told boss Jimmy Boyle he feels capable of stepping up and filling the No 1 jersey in the north-east.

​

He said: "It was good to get on the park and play my first game. It's just a pity we didn't get a good result.

​

"I was a bit nervous when I first came on but I was involved in the action straight away and managed to settle down a bit. My kicking was poor at times but I felt I did quite well.

​

"There wasn't much for me to do during the game. The defenders protected me pretty well and big David Lilley was outstanding.

​

"I think I would be ready for my first start. Playing against East Fife has given me a real taste for it."

Airdrie will be without the suspended pair of Adam, unless the club choose to appeal his dismissal, and midfielder Sean Lynch. Jamie Stevenson is out with a lower back injury.

​

But centre-back Cameron MacDonald is available again after a two-match ban. Kieron Stallard will have a late fitness check.

​

Referee Brian Colvin will officiate.
