MANAGER Jimmy Boyle says Airdrie have little chance of winning games if they don't clean up their disciplinary record.

The Diamonds have had a man sent-off in each of their last four games.

​

Boyle has had no complaints with the dismissals of David Lilley, Kieron Stallard and Paul Lovering in the past month for poor tackles.

​

And he admits Airdrie's hopes of climbing the table and mounting a serious challenge for promotion will stall if they can't keep all 11 men on the park.

​

He said: "You can't expect to win matches when you have men sent-off four weeks in a row."

 

The New Broomfield chief is also looking for better displays from the team, starting in tomorrow's derby clash with Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill, after a disappointing 3-1 defeat to East Fife.

"We are where we are because of our performances at times," he added. "I think some players are not playing as well as they can and should be.

​

"The performance at the weekend was the biggest problem and we didn't pass the ball as well as we know we can and have.

​

"We didn't work hard enough to cause East Fife problems and got what we deserved in the end.

​

"I didn't think we looked confident on the ball. We've had problems in terms of consistency of performance and consistency in play."

Airdrie are without the suspended Lovering at Cliftonhill but Stallard is available for selection having served a two-match ban.

​

Boyle will check on the fitness of the injured Paul McKane (shoulder) and Phil Johnston (hamstring) before naming his matchday squad.

​

Local lad John Boyle has missed the last two games with an ankle problem but the manager hopes he'll be fit to play.

​

Young defender Graeme Goodall and winger Ally Woodburn have returned to training following knee and thigh injuries, respecitvely, but are not in contention for tomorrow.
