Dundee United match preview
6th January 2012
AIRDRIE will be looking to spring a William Hill Scottish Cup shock tomorrow.
The Diamonds face Dundee United of the SPL in the fourth round at New Broomfield.
Both teams know about each other after meeting in the third round of the League Cup at the stadium in September.
Goals from Ryan Dow and Jon Daly earned Peter Houston's men a 2-0 victory - but the Diamonds were on the receiving end of some poor decisions.
Boss Jimmy Boyle can't wait for a second crack at the Arabs and said: "Dundee United are a team of good quality and are doing pretty well in the league.
"The big boy Jon is a handful up-front and we know what the likes of Gary MacKay-Steven can offer after he was with us last season.
"It's a great game for us given how we played against them a few months ago.
"We want to work them really hard and it would be good to see the players produce a performance like the one we had in the derby on Monday."
On the personnel front, Airdrie will be without Northern Irish keeper Paul McKane who suffered medial ligament damage in his knee during Monday's derby win over Albion Rovers.
"It's disappointing for Paul," added the manager. "He has suffered some medial ligament damage as a result of that challenge.
"I don't know how long he will be missing for but he will cetainly be out of the game at the weekend."
Midfielder Graeme Owens (thigh) is also out but striker Derek Holmes could return following an ankle injury.
