Brechin match preview
13th April 2012
JIMMY BOYLE has been named the Irn-Bru Second Division manager of the month for March.
The Airdrie gaffer picked up his prize at Hampden last Thursday after a run of four successive clean-sheet wins.
The Diamonds are unbeaten in seven games and have picked up 17 points from the last 21 available to move into fourth place in the table on goal difference.
Goals from Sean Lynch, Willie McLaren and substitute Nathan Blockley ensured a fifth straight clean-sheet victory over Stenhousemuir last Saturday at Ochilview.
Now attention turns to this weekend's visit of Brechin City who need three points to stay in the hunt for a top-four slot.
Boyle is hoping Airdrie can keep their good run going - and is pleased his manager's prize did not bring bad luck.
He said: "It's usually a banana skin when you get an award like this; you normally go on and lose your next game!
"But seriously, I only get this because of what the players do on the park and they've been fantastic in these past few games."
Airdrie will be without suspended midfielder Sean Lynch tomorrow but inspirational skipper Paul Lovering returns from a two-match ban.
Boyle added: "The aim is to make the play-offs and we will just keep going. We will take it one game at a time; look to win then focus on the next one."
