Brechin City match preview
19th February 2012
JIMMY BOYLE is hoping the weather doesn't put another trip to Angus on ice.
Airdrie are due to face Brechin City in a vital league match at Glebe Park tomorrow.
Boss Boyle and his players were due to travel to the north-east last weekend but a frozen surface put paid to their clash with Arbroath four hours before kick-off.
Now the manager is concentrating on relaunching his side's push for the SFL2 promotion play-offs with all three points at neighbouring Brechin.
"It was disappointing that we couldn't get the Arbroath game on as we felt confident of getting a good result," Boyle said.
"I felt we produced a really good performance the week before against Stirling Albion and I would have liked to build on that.
"We were very disappointed with the 3-2 defeat to Brechin here before Christmas but I felt we were comfortable in the 1-1 draw up there earlier in the season.
"It will be a tough game on Saturday but it's one we are more than capable of winning."
Airdrie have no injury problems with full-back Jamie Bain available again after having his wisdom teeth removed.
Kieron Stallard is back from suspension. Fellow defender Cameron MacDonald is expected to feature as a trialist for a third and final time.
Gerry McLauchlan is likely to miss out for the hosts.
The match will be refereed by Mr Des Roache.
