AIRDRIE will be looking to get their league campaign back on track at home to the Blue Brazil tomorrow.

Jimmy Boyle's men welcome Cowdenbeath to the stadium for the first time in more than three years.

The Diamonds are still smarting after their disappointing 2-0 defeat to East Fife at New Bayview last weekend.

And goalkeeper Paul McKane, who signed a contract extension until the end of the season on Monday night, admits motivation to do well will not be needed.

The Northern Irishman said: "It was a long bus journey home last Saturday and the mood among the players wasn't great.

​

"All of the players felt for the fans that had travelled all that way. We are determined to put things right."

Airdrie beat Cowdenbeath 4-0 when the sides last met at New Broomfield in April 2008 but their most recent meeting came in the ALBA Challenge Cup a few months later.

In the last eight of the competition, Airdrie won 2-1 at Central Park thanks to a double from Paul Di Giacomo. The Diamonds would subsequently go on and win the trophy, beating Ross County on penalties in the final at McDiarmid Park, Perth.

Cowdenbeath look set to be difficult opponents having picked up four points from a possible six in their opening two league games under new player/manager Colin Cameron.

In terms of team news, striker John Boyle is out with a twisted ankle but midfielder Sean Lynch could be in line for a return after recovering from an ankle injury of his own.
