Arbroath match preview

25th November 2011

IT'S 'Kids for Free' day at New Broomfield for the visit of Arbroath tomorrow.

Youngsters under the age of 16 will be admitted to the stadium free of charge thanks to new main sponsor Advance Construction.

The Blantyre-based company have agreed to back the Diamonds until the end of the campaign with the possibility of extending the deal through next season.

And to celebrate this week's big announcement, Advance Construction are promoting a 'Kids for Free' scheme this weekend.

The Diamonds go into the Irn-Bru Second Division clash with the Smokies full of confidence after their record-breaking win over Gala Fairydean.

The 11-0 humbling of the East of Scotland League part-timers was the biggest Scottish Cup win in 18 years and a new club record victory for Airdrie since they re-formed as United in 2002.

Manager Jimmy Boyle said: "That was a great result for us and we're hopeful we can push on from here. We're creating lots of chances and getting the clean sheet was important.

"We still believe we have a squad here that can put a good run of results together but the next six or seven games are really big for us."

On the personnel front, centre-back David Lilley is missing due to suspension while a thigh injury will again keep out Ally Woodburn. Teenager Fraser Keast should be back.

Meanwhile, Airdrie have signed 16-year-old left-back Kyle Nicoll, a member of the club's under-19 squad, to a two-year contract.
