East Fife match preview
28th October 2011
AIRDRIE will be without two players due to suspension for tomorrow's visit of East Fife.
The Diamonds are missing the central defensive duo of Kieron Stallard and Kevin Green.
Northern Irish keeper Paul McKane is also absent because of a shoulder injury but he hopes to be back for the derby clash with Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill.
And boss Jimmy Boyle will also check on the fitness of striker John Boyle who missed the 1-1 draw at Dumbarton with an ankle injury.
Young defender Graeme Goodall and winger Ally Woodburn are back in training but judged to be around two weeks away from a first-team return.
Airdrie lost 2-0 at East Fife earlier in the season and Boyle knows his side face a tough 90 minutes at the coalface.
He said: "There is no doubting that they are a good side and it's going to be a very difficult game for us.
"But if we can defend as well as we did against Brechin City and Dumbarton and create chances at the other end, then we have a chance of picking up points."
East Fife arrive at Craigneuk Avenue following a 2-0 reverse at Kilmarnock in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Communities League Cup on Tuesday night.
On-loan Hearts custodian Mark Ridgers returns to New Broomfield for the first time since the conclusion of his loan spell at Airdrie last term and is expected to be in goal.
Meanwhile, Airdrie's under-19s have been drawn away to Coldstream in the third round of the Scottish Youth Cup.
The tie is expected to be played on Sunday, November 13 at the Berwickshire outfit's Home Park ground.
