Stirling Albion match preview
30th March 2012
AIRDRIE could extend their unbeaten run in the league to six games at Stirling Albion tomorrow.
The Diamonds head to Forthbank just two points adrift of the Irn-Bru Second Division promotion play-off zone.
It's possible that the three leading chasers for fourth spot - Stenhousemuir, East Fife and Airdrie - could be level on points tomorrow night.
Should East Fife and Stenny draw at New Bayview, and Jimmy Boyle's men win at rock-bottom Stirling, the trio will all be on 42 points with five games to play.
Airdrie, who welcome midfielder Jamie Stevenson back from suspension, have taken 11 points from the last 15 available and clinched three clean-sheet victories in a row.
Boyle says his side are firmly in the hunt for a top-four slot and wants the good form to be maintained.
He said: "Confidence has been a major factor and wins and clean sheets are the best way of getting it back.
"We have also cut out losing silly goals and have stopped picking up red cards.
"I think we've given ourselves a fighting chance but we know we have a lot to do.
"We've still go to play the teams above us, like East Fife and Dumbarton, so we're still in there challenging."
Diamonds' skipper Paul Lovering will serve the first of a two-match ban after crossing the disciplinary points threshold.
Stephen Finnie is the man in the middle.
