Airdrie v Hamilton Academical preview
15th February 2013
Airdrie have made a new signing ahead of Saturday's Lanarkshire derby clash with Hamilton Accies.
Manager Jimmy Boyle confirmed that he's acquired Celtic keeper Robbie Thomson on a 93-day emergency loan agreement.
The 19-year-old is expected to be in the squad for the visit of the Scottish Cup quarter-finalists and Boyle says one more loanee could arrive in time to play.
But the Diamonds will be forced into changes due to suspensions for defenders Ricki Lamie and Marc Warren. Full-back Gavin Griffin may be involved having recovered from a long-standing ankle and calf injury.
Airdrie have lost their last three games and are six points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Irn-Bru First Division table.
And Boyle is looking for a considerable improvement in terms of performance after the 4-0 humbling at the hands of Morton at New Broomfield.
He said: "It wasn't great on Monday night [at training] and I had to go into the dressing room and have a chat with them about how things have gone this season up to now.
"I have never seen us give the ball away as cheaply as we did last Saturday. That is the worst I have seen here and it's got to change.
"We haven't played well in the last two games against Hamilton. We need to start getting better performances and we all need to work hard.
"Everybody has to step up and start producing the performances which will get results. If we keep getting performances like last Saturday's, there's only one thing going to happen."
