Airdrie v Dumbarton preview
18th January 2013
Jimmy Boyle wants Airdrie to repeat the performance produced in the stunning win over Dunfermline Athletic.
The Diamonds host Dumbarton in a crunch clash at New Broomfield on Saturday.
Boyle's men dumped the Pars 3-1 last weekend which brought a first victory since October and ended an 11-game winless streak.
And the manager feels a similar display against the Sons, who have won three of their last four league games, could generate further success.
He said: "We have beaten them twice before so there is expectation but it's a game we will hopefully go out and enjoy.
"If we play anywhere near as well as we did on Saturday, getting the ball down and passing it and being positive, we will give ourselves a good chance.
"I know Dumbarton have made some changes, won some games and are looking stronger but we don't fear anybody in this league.
"We instill into the players that on any given day, we can beat anybody. We have a lot of hungry, young boys here and hopefully that hunger will take us into the next game."
The Diamonds welcome back Grant Evans from suspension and midfielder Nathan Blockley after he missed the win at East End Park with a thigh injury.
However, the injury list is still lengthy and David Lilley, Sean Lynch, Jack Boyle, Alan Cook and Gavin Griffin are all missing.
