Airdrie v Raith Rovers preview
23rd November 2012
Airdrie look set to be without five players for tomorrow's William Hill Scottish Cup Third Round visit of Raith Rovers.
Diamonds boss Jimmy Boyle confirmed that four centre-backs - David Lilley, Cameron MacDonald, Gregor Buchanan and Ricki Lamie - along with midfielder Sean Lynch are expected to miss the tie.
The manager said: "We are pushing for Cammy and Sean to be ready for the Livingston game next week. We don't think Gregor or Ricki will be ready and David is struggling with his hamstring.
"It's a massive game for us this weekend. Raith are a dogged team; they work hard and keep their shape and that is what we will need to do.
"We know it is going to be tough and they are going well. But if we can be more positive and build on what we did at Dumbarton, I think we can get a result."
Airdrie beat the Sons 4-3 at The Rock last Saturday thanks to a thrilling finale which saw two goals netted in the final minute. It was the club's first victory since August 18.
The manager added: "We needed the win last weekend but we also got a performance in the second half which was pleasing.
"We showed so much fight, spirit and determination. We showed guts to take the ball and pass it. I think we are a good team when we get going."
