Airdrie complete the first quarter against Stranraer tomorrow, and Adam Brown says it's 'so far so good'.

Midfielder Brown (20) joined the Diamonds at the end of August after impressing during pre-season, and the ex-St.Mirren man says there is much to be optimistic about.

"I would say as a squad we're happy with how the first quarter has gone.

​

"We've had a lot of good results so far, and on a couple of occasions we've deserved more points than we've got. 

​

"I think we will kick on again and go from strength to strength."

​

Following two impressive campaigns under Stevie Aitken, Stranraer find themselves at the wrong end of the table after their opening eight games, albeit only four points behind fourth-placed Airdrie in a league where top and bottom are separated by just 11 points.

​

Brown says anything can happen in such a tight league.

​

"I would say current positions could change by the end of the season, because it's a league where anyone can beat anyone. 

​

"But I'm sure we will be up at the top end of the table."

​

Brown was an unused substitute as the Diamonds took a point from title favourites Dunfermline last week, but the team performance impressed him.

​

"I think it's a positive result - it's a very tough place to go and they have been doing well - but the boys were brilliant and we deserved to come away with at least a point."

​

Brian Reid's Stranraer side are the only side Airdrie have yet to face, and the Blues head north after an impressive win at Forfar Athletic.

​

Scott Rumsby is expected to make the visiting squad following a hip injury, while the Diamonds have a clean bill of health with the exception of long-term absentee Jim Lister.

With the international break immediately after the end of the first quarter, Adam thinks a win is psychologically crucial.

​

"It is important because it's a long wait to get back out on the pitch to get over it if you don't get a result. 

​

"But really, every game is important to win."
