Jim Lister is satisfied that his injury woes are behind him as he looks forward to Saturday's crunch tie at Cowdenbeath.

The popular striker, who turned 35 last week, is back in the team after a long lay-off due to a hernia problem.

​

With a run of first team starts now under his belt, Lister is already moving up the goalscoring charts, and he admits to being surprised at how quickly his form has returned.

​

"I'm feeling satisfaction at being back, but at the same time it's been frustrating as I feel we've dropped a lot of silly points.

​

"Personally I feel in good shape surprisingly, but I can still get sharper and fitter."

​

Watching from the sidelines for much of the season was difficult for Lister, but he's been pleased with the potential in the side.

​

"Even before I came back we've been playing some attractive football and we've only strengthened with the young guys who have come in - especially with the chance of full time football."

​

With thoughts turning to Central Park, the Diamonds are looking to capitalise on recent results around them as they bid to move back up the table.

​

Colin Nish's men were 3-0 winners the last time Airdrie came calling, in what was Gary Bollan's last game in charge of the club. The Diamonds have been victorious at New Broomfield either side of that result, winning 3-2 in September and 2-0 in February.

Jimmy says a workmanlike performance may be required as he and his team-mates look to get back to winning ways.

"As with every game, we'll be looking for a win on Saturday. Our guys will prepare well and give our all.

​

"I get the feeling this one will be about rolling the sleeves up - but I'm confident we will enjoy Saturday."

Eddie Wolecki Black has a full squad to choose from with the exception of the suspended David Cox.

​

Cowden will be looking for some home comfort after a 4-1 defeat at Ayr United on Tuesday evening. John McKendrick is the referee.

​

Cowdenbeath have advised that entry is via the High Street Turnstiles. Airdrieonians Supporters will be accommodated in the Old Stand.
