Fans' hero Jimmy through his op
4th November 2015
Airdrieonians striker Jim Lister came through his hernia operation on Monday and is on the road to recovery.
The 34-year-old hitman, who has scored 18 goals in 66 appearances in a Diamonds shirt, went under the knife as he bids to end a season of frustration on the sidelines.
Now Jimmy will make a welcome return to the Club on Tuesday as he begins the long rehab road back towards first team football again.
Diamonds’ Head of Medical Department Michael McLaughlan told airdriefc.com: “The surgeon has told us that four to six weeks of rehab will put Jimmy in a position to start his pre-season programme.
“He is not allowed to drive until November 9 but the next day he will make his return to the Club.
“Injury is always the hardest thing for any footballer but we will be there to help get Jimmy back in a Diamonds shirt when he is healed and ready.”
