Jordan Thompson says there's more to come from Airdrie as they look to consolidate under Danny Lennon.

Loan Ranger Thompson is enjoying his time at the Club, and says constant improvement is the aim as he and his team-mates look to secure a play-off position. 

​

"The lads have been great with me since joining.

​

"I look to improve with every session and every game, and Airdrie is a brilliant club for me to develop as a player and also a person."

​

Evaluating his three games so far for the Diamonds, Thompson is frustrated with Tuesday night's result against Forfar Athletic - but was quick to praise an exceptional goal from fellow midfielder Nicky Cadden.

​

"Against Ayr we didn't get the result we wanted, but we took the positives from the game and I think that showed against Cowdenbeath. I also got myself on the scoresheet which was a big plus for me personally, but most importantly we got the three points. 

​

"On Tuesday we didn't play as well as we could have but we got a point from the game with a great strike from Cadds.

​

"We're looking to keep improving and winning game by game to stay in fourth place."

​

Having already featured in the Ibrox first team, Jordan is happy to be playing regularly - and says a loan extension is a possibility.

​

"It's been great for me so far to get games under my belt and play in competitive matches at a good level. 

​

"I'll talk with Rangers at the end of the 28 days and see if an extension is the right choice for me and the club." 

​

Saturday's opponents Brechin City continue to languish at the bottom of the table, and have yet to register a positive result against Airdrie this season.

​

The last encounter between the sides ended in a 3-3 draw at Glebe Park in January, with the Diamonds winning 2-1 and 1-0 in earlier league meetings, as well as a 3-1 Scottish Cup win.

Acting Head Coach Danny Lennon, who takes charge until the end of the season, has a full squad to choose from.

Danny checked into New Broomfield on Thursday night to oversee his first training session, and the experience gained in spells at Cowdenbeath, St.Mirren and Alloa will be a welcome addition in the dug-out.

​

Brechin will have to do without Liam Watt, who is ineligible to play under the terms of his loan deal.
