Neil Parry wants Airdrie to make the most of their home advantage - starting this weekend against Stranraer.

The Diamonds were left stunned by a stoppage time winner at Stenhousemuir last Saturday, but goalkeeper Parry says the next game can't come quick enough.

​

"The boys were totally gutted after the Stenhousemuir game. Going down to ten men so early always meant we were up against it, but we felt we were going to get the point we deserved.

​

"Unfortunately we didn't defend a set piece well enough - but we'll be working hard not to let it happen again.

​

"After a game like that you're desperate for the next game to come. We feel we've been on a decent run, and hopefully we can get back to winning ways against Stranraer."

​

Brian Reid's men visit New Broomfield on Saturday for the third meeting of the sides this season.

​

Honours are even so far, with a 1-0 win for Stranraer in October being cancelled out by a 3-1 reversal at Stair Park, with Bryan Prunty, Taylor Morgan and Liam Watt finding the net for the Diamonds.

​

Parry put in a man-of-the-match performance during the December victory, and the big keeper knows he won't have an easy day on Saturday.

​

"Stranraer have been on a great run recently. I've played with a few of the boys there like Craig Malcolm, Jamie Longworth and Mark McGuigan, so I know the quality they have.

​

"But it's a home game, and that's where we should be looking to pick up three points."

A lifelong Airdrie fan, Parry has been watching the search to find the Diamonds' Greatest XI with interest - and can't disagree with the winning goalkeeper...

"John Martin was an absolute legend, and I was lucky enough to watch him making saves week in and week out - and even swinging on the bar!

​

"It's great to now be playing for the club I supported, but my aim is to have success here in my own right."

With David Cox suspended after his Ochilview dismissal, Eddie Wolecki Black will have to shuffle the Diamonds pack ahead of the visit of the Blues. Australian signing Jacob Esposito impressed as a second half substitute at Stenhousemuir and will be hoping to be in contention.

Stranraer are on a five-match unbeaten streak which has seen them move within two points of Airdrie - and the final play-off position. Goalkeeper Cameron Belford has joined on loan from Wrexham after regular number 1 David McGurn suffered a long-term injury.
