Taylor Morgan says Airdrie are third in League One on merit - and aims to continue the promotion push at Peterhead.

The big frontman turned 25 this week, and three points at Balmoor would be the perfect birthday present for the player who says things are clicking into place for the Diamonds.

​

"I think the team has been improving since the very first game, we had a lot of new players and it can take time for everyone to gel. 

​

"But I think that is starting to happen now and I think now we're capable of going on a run. 

​

"We have a great squad of players and management and this is starting to show now."

​

Airdrie got back to winning ways with a 1-0 home victory against Brechin City last week after three games without a win.

​

Morgan thinks the Diamonds can be pleased with their league position after some unlucky results.

​

"We have been a bit unfortunate in a couple of games, but we can be happy that we are in a great position to make a real push for promotion. 

​

"I think overall it is a good reflection of our season so far."

​

Jim McInally's Peterhead side have failed to register a league win since August, but Morgan doesn't expect an easy ride.

​

"We had a good win against them at home, but in this league all the games are very difficult, especially away from home.

​

"Hopefully we can come away with the three points."

​

Both sides may welcome back players who have previously starred in the opposition ranks, David Cox returning from suspension for Airdrie whilst Nathan Blockley has shaken off an ankle injury to put himself in contention for the Blue Toon.

​

Steven Noble is rated doubtful for the home side, but the injury news is rather less promising for Airdrie midfielder Scott Smith.

​

The on-loan Dundee Utd man hobbled off early in the second half against Brechin, and scans show he has suffered knee ligament damage and could be out of action for three weeks.

​

Referee Alan Newlands will take charge of the Balmoor clash.
