Get up for the cup for a tenner!
25th November 2015
We're pleased to announce we have slashed the ticket prices for Saturday’s crunch William Hill Scottish Cup tie with Brechin City to just £10 for adults and £5 for kids.
The move comes as the club bid to get as many Diamonds fans as possible behind the quest to make the fourth round in what Is a crucial match for Gary Bollan’s side.
Saturday’s display in the 3-0 defeat to League One leaders Ayr United that saw defender Chris O’Neil red-carded was a bitter disappointment for everyone at Airdrieonians.
Now boss Bollan is desperate to see his side make amends on Saturday and he stressed: “The focus will come off the league campaign for a week and it is vital now that we have reduced the prices that we get the fans behind the boys.
“All I want is to make sure we are in the hat for the next round because that’s when all the big boys come in.
“You have a chance of a big tie financially for the club and then starting to build a run.
“Win ugly, put together a performance, however we do it let’s just be together and get the club through this one.”
The club know the fans are hurting after successive defeats to League One’s big two Dunfermline and Ayr United.
That has prompted this move to cut the admission fee from the normal league prices of £16 for adults and £10 for concessions.
Diamonds chief executive Iain King said: “The Diamonds fans have been very supportive of the changes the chairman Tom Wotherspoon wants to make at the club.
“They backed us in numbers against the Pars and at Ayr and it’s important at this costly time of year that we try to reward that loyalty by cutting the prices for the Cup.
“Airdrieonians can be a powerful force when we pull together as one and I hope this helps us get a good support behind the team on Saturday.”
