Ryan Conroy believes the Diamonds can get back to winning ways at Peterhead tomorrow and put their cup woes behind them.

The midfield ace is hoping that he and his team-mates can make it six wins out of six on League One business, and insists that last week's cup exit at the hands of Livingston doesn't affect that.

​

"The fact is we see the league as our priority. It's obviously disappointing getting knocked out of the cup, but it's better to lose there than in the league.

​

"We've got another chance to push Livingston again, they have a hard game away to Albion so we'll be fully concentrating on the league again."

​

The Diamonds bolstered their squad this week ahead of the trip to Aberdeenshire, and the addition of Kyle Hutton has been welcomed by Conroy, having played alongside him at Queen of the South.

​

"Kyle's a good player, a good centre mid with plenty of experience.

​

"Fitzy getting injured is a big disappointment because we were just starting to look solid, but Kyle will slot in there perfectly - he's the same kind of player and his experience will help us.

​

"It's a great signing for us."

Airdrie are looking to turn the tables on their north-east rivals, having gone down 3-1 to the Blue Toon in a televised match in October.

​

 

Top scorer Rory McAllister is suspended for Jim McInally's side and Conroy is pleased that the Diamonds won't have to face the hitman - although he is aware of the quality Peterhead have in reserve.

​

"Peterhead gave us a bit of a hard time in the last meeting, and McAllister was probably their main man. Him being out is a bit of a bonus for us, but I'm sure they'll bring in another player who will also be dangerous."

With the cup exit behind Airdrie, the focus in training this week has been on bouncing back to their excellent league form.

​

Conroy has every confidence the Diamonds can pick up where they left off.

​

"The last time we played them we took the lead then let them back into the game. That's always disappointing, but we're confident that we can return to the form we've shown in the last five league games.

​

"I think we just need to believe in ourselves and we can beat anybody in the league."

​

Head coach Mark Wilson is pleased with the attitude displayed in training since last week's defeat.

​

"It's another tough game, but we need to get the cup loss out of our heads and I think we've done that pretty well this week.

​

"We're looking forward to getting back to league business, and that's our sole focus now.

​

"We know what Peterhead can offer, but we've got a good squad here and we've strengthened this week with Kyle coming in, so we're looking forward to it and we'll be ready for it."

​

Marc Fitzpatrick aside, the Diamonds have no fresh injury worries ahead of the long trip north.

​
