A plumb deal for Diamonds sponsors

9th July 2016

Scotland's largest independent plumbing merchant Plumbstore has backed Airdrie with a short sponsorship deal for the upcoming season.

One of the company's nine branches is in Bellshill, just a few miles from Airdrie, and they are long-time supporters of their "local-ish" team, funding corporate hospitality and lottery sponsorship over the last decade.

Chairman Tom Wotherspoon, Commercial Manager Dougy Allsop, and first team stars Marc Fitzpatrick and Iain Russell visited branch manager Christopher Sullivan yesterday to seal a deal which will see the Plumbstore logo emblazoned on the Diamonds' home shorts next season.

Chris told us a little bit about the business.

"We started in March 2005, and we sell anything and everything to do with the plumbing trade - from underground soils to combi boilers - and supplying to trade and individuals.

"We got involved with Airdrieonians through a mutual affiliate, and we jumped at the chance to support our local-ish team!

"We're excited by the club's new direction.

"Going full time and training at Ravenscraig will have a positive effect on performances and hopefully get the club back to where they should be.

"It's great that our company can be a part of that!"

Airdrie chairman Tom Wotherspoon added: "We are delighted Plumbstore have joined as our new home shorts sponsor.

"Plumbstore have been supporting the club for many years and we look forward to developing this relationship even further."
