Pre-season friendlies
15th June 2016
With training well underway, Airdrie travel south on Saturday for the first in a series of pre-season friendlies.
The Diamonds visit Netherdale, the home of Gala Fairydean Rovers, as first-team coach Kevin McBride sees his new look squad in action for the first time.
The Lowland League side are a new name in Scottish football - of sorts. The club was formed after an amalgamation between Gala Fairydean and Gala Rovers in 2013, although Rovers had initially used that name over 100 years ago.
More recently, Fairydean were the visitors to New Broomfield in 2011 when the Diamonds recorded their biggest ever scoreline; an 11-0 Scottish Cup win over the Borderers.
Admission for Saturday's match is priced at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions, with free entry for children under 5. A match programme will be available for £1.
Airdrie have also lined up official friendlies against Clyde (Saturday July 2) and Spartans (Tuesday July 5). Both fixtures are away from home.
A number of bounce games have also been arranged, but these are likely to be played behind closed doors. Any change to this will be announced in due course.
