Schools events secure sponsorship
23rd May 2017
The Supporters' Trust are committed to supporting schools football in Airdrie.
For the past 15 years, in conjunction with the Excelsior Stadium company, we have run the United Schools Cup which has brought together all the secondary schools in Airdrie and Coatbridge for the annual tournament.
Over the years this has provided hundreds of secondary school children with the opportunity to play and compete for their schools at the stadium.
For the past five years the trust and Stadium company, in conjunction with Active Schools, have also promoted the Airdrie Primary Schools Football Festival. All 24 primary schools and thousands of children from the town have now taken part in this annual football festival.
The Trust are delighted to welcome on board two local companies, Watson-Towers and Cairnhill Structures, who share our support for schools football in the area and have committed to underwrite the costs of both the United Schools Cup and the Airdrie Primary Schools Football Festival.
This is a huge boost for schools football and school children in the town.
Neil Watson, Group Managing Director, said: "We have roots in the town and wanted to give something back.
"We are delighted to back the schools cup competitions next year”.
The Trust would like to thank Watson-Towers and Cairnhill Structures for their support. There is a long history of schools football in Airdrie and this sponsorship deal from local companies ensures that this legacy continues.
