It is with great sadness that the club have to announce the passing of Agnes Speirs, the wife/mum of ex-directors and lifelong fans Walter and Gavin Speirs.

Agnes suffered a stroke on Thursday and passed away at 1am this morning.

​

She supported Walter and Gavin in all they did, and was especially resilient in 2002 when the new club was being formed. The Speirs family and Ballantyne family needed that support and it was readily given.

​

Her life was inextricably linked with Airdrie FC and we have lost a special friend.

​

Our thoughts are with Walter, Gavin and their extended family.
