Daniel Boateng has stressed the importance of momentum, and believes Airdrie can get the ball rolling at Bayview.

Towering defender Boateng (24) is loving life as a Diamond in the fast-paced Scottish game.

"I'm enjoying being at the club. Obviously I'd have liked to get more wins, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

​

"Football here is aggressive, and very end-to-end - so you've got to work hard."

​

Airdrie head to East Fife this weekend hoping to go one better than the draw that played out the last time the clubs met.

​

A Kevin Smith goal gave the Fifers the lead at New Broomfield in September, but Airdrie levelled through an Iain Russell penalty - a familiar occurence these days.

​

With a mixed bag so far in terms of league results, former Arsenal man Boateng promises better times for the Diamonds faithful.

​

"Considering the squad is mostly a new bunch, I think we're doing alright. The best is yet to come.

​

"If the fans can be a bit more patient, they'll see that we'll eventually get there."

​

Airdrie have yet to find the consistency to secure back-to-back wins, but following an impressive performance last weekend, confidence is high at Ravenscraig.

​

Daniel is hopeful of making it two wins in a row.

​

"Football's all about momentum and we need to continue the good work we did on Saturday. We're 100% confident."

​

Head coach Kevin McBride agrees that more of the same is required.

​

"We'll go there and try to carry on what we did last week against Queen's Park. We know it's going to be difficult, but the boys have been training all week to go up there and put on a performance."

​

There are no injury worries in the Diamonds camp, although striker Kevin Schmidt faces a two-match ban following his dismissal last weekend.

​

East Fife have also struggled for consistency in the opening quarter, and currently sit in seventh place, two behind the Diamonds despite impressive wins over Livingston and Stranraer earlier in the season.

​

Whistler Gavin Ross referees his second Airdrie match of the season, having been in charge of the Diamonds 2-2 draw at Stenhousemuir in August.

​
