Saturday saw the draw for our ever-popular Away Strip Sponsorship Raffle.

 

This year saw 36 entrants take part, and for the first time ever the draw was held at a business networking lunch prior to the Forfar Athletic match, with those present then enjoying the match from our hospitality area. 

 

The main prize was won by BEC Plastics, whose logo will now feature as the main sponsor of our new away strip, to be launched later in the summer.

Owner Eddie Gouther, who has just moved to Airdrie, was delighted with the prize.

 

"I am a huge football fan, and have a few Diamonds amongst my workforce in my Cumbernauld factory.

"Having just moved to the town, I was always planning on visiting the ground more often - especially with my newly born grandchild - but this is the icing on the cake.

 

"I must say thanks to Gerry McGeachy and also Douglas Allsop for his gentle - but persistent - persuasion to get involved! I look forward to the season ahead and more visits to New Broomfield’.

Commercial Manager Douglas Allsop added: "The whole process was a huge success, and I am particularly happy that many of the entrants came along and experienced our match day hospitality rather than just buying a ticket. The atmosphere at the lunch was superb, and hopefully we can entice more of these guys along next season on a more regular basis.

 

"From the strip perspective, this is the final part in the sponsor jigsaw - details of all others will follow in the next few days - and it’s now full steam ahead to get the strips out for sale in summer. The beauty of doing the draw earlier than we have ever done in the past is the sponsors can now all be applied at source instead of being applied via a third party when they arrive, saving time and money, and meaning the strip looks much slicker."
