Darryl Duffy joins on loan
January 10, 2018
We are delighted to announce the loan signing of St Mirren forward Darryl Duffy.
Experienced striker Duffy (33) joined the Buddies at the beginning of the season after a spell in India, but is well known to fans in the UK for a long goalscoring career north and south of the border.
Making his name at Falkirk, where he bagged an impressive 34 goals in 57 appearances, Duffy moved to England where he counted Hull City, Swansea City and Bristol Rovers among his clubs - and goals were never in short supply for the frontman.
Darryl joins on loan until the end of the season, and goes straight into Saturday's squad for the trip to Stranraer.
A delighted Stevie Findlay told airdriefc.com: "I'd like to thank Jack Ross and Tony Fitzpatrick for making this move possible - I'm absolutely delighted to get the signing over the line.
"Darryl is a player with great experience and I think he'll be a huge help to the young players at the club.
"I spoke to him on New Year's Day about the possibility of coming here, and he was very keen to make the move happen even though there was interest from other clubs.
"His record over an impressive career speaks for itself, and we're all very happy to have him on board."
