I am disappointed but, unfortunately,  not surprised at the article written by Mark Pirie online today under the Daily Record banner.

 

For those who don't bother with the Record, apparently Kevin Thomson is the latest big name to turn the club down. Apparently, after discussions with "Club Chiefs" he made his decision to reject us.

 

I would like to confirm that this is complete and utter nonsense.

 

Kevin Thomson never applied for the job.

Kevin Thomson was not offered the job.

There never was any meeting between ourselves and Kevin to discuss the job.

 

I spoke with Kevin this afternoon who confirmed that he had been 'bombarded on social media' by Mark Pirie, the actions of which he later apologised for, on more than one occasion.

 

It seems that if there is an opportunity to show the Club in a bad light, it is being seized upon by certain sources whether true or not. We will no longer allow this to go unchecked.

 

Kevin is working on his own project in coaching and we wish him well. Neither of us welcome such distractions.
