Jake Hastie was pleased with his debut derby win, and hopes the Diamonds can continue their momentum against Alloa.

 

The midfielder joined on loan as part of the deal which took Rohan Ferguson to Fir Park, and he's pleased to get some game time.

 

"I'm delighted with my move to Airdrie, and I was glad to get the full 90 minutes against Albion Rovers.

 

"I was quite happy with my performance considering it was my first game."

 

Hastie was part of a victorious Airdrie side which featured three new loanees, two trialists and the returning Jordan McGregor.

 

Considering the brevity of the time spent together before the match, Hastie was impressed with the team performance.

 

"I thought we played well as it was the first time all of us had played together - and it's always nice to get a result in a derby!"

 

Three games in to the new league campaign, the Diamonds have one win, one draw and one defeat on the board.

 

With last season's play-off runners-up Alloa Athletic coming to New Broomfield on Saturday, Jake feels the victory in Coatbridge came at the right time.

"It was very important to get the win ahead of this week's home match. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going for the Alloa game.

 

"Everyone wants to make it two wins in a row and push on for the rest of the season."

 

Former Airdrie players Neil Parry, Alan Cook and Steven Hetherington will be in contention for Jim Goodwin's men when they visit tomorrow, but the Wasps have lost some key players from last season with Greig Spence, Jordan Kirkpatrick and Dylan Mackin all moving on.

 

Adam Brown is rated doubtful for the Diamonds, with Marc Fitzpatrick still sidelined with a leg injury.
