Ross Brown says there can be no second half slip-ups against Alloa Athletic tomorrow, and only three points will do for the Diamonds.

Midfielder Brown has started in Airdrie's last four matches after making the move from Livingston in January, and the 24-year-old is enjoying a new lease of life at the Excelsior.

​

"It's been great so far - it's been important for me to get back playing football after being unlucky with injuries in the first half of the season.

​

"We've had two wins and two defeats since I came in, but I feel we've been playing well apart from a slight blip in the second half at Ayr on Saturday. We felt we could win that game, similar to the Raith Rovers game where we led at half-time but came away empty handed."

​

Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Ayr leaves Airdrie seven points behind fourth-placed Alloa having played a game more.

​

Brown sees tomorrow evening's rearranged fixture against the Wasps as a must-win.

​

"Tomorrow's game is massive in terms of what we want to achieve come the end of the season.

​

"Nothing other than three points will do to put ourselves back in with a play-off shout, but more importantly to increase the gap from the teams behind us."

Jake Hastie giving Airdrie a 2-0 win at Excelsior Stadium in August before a single Craig Malcolm strike decided November's Indodrill encounter.

Ross knows what's required if Airdrie are to continue the statistic.

"It's been our second half performances that have let us down. We've been starting well, but we're giving teams a foot back in the game and it's been costly.

 

"If we can dominate for longer periods and punish teams when we're on top, we've got every chance of winning games. That needs to start tomorrow."

​

Manager Stephen Findlay wants a response from his squad.

​

"Tomorrow's about making sure we impose ourselves as the home team.

 

"We want to get another three points on the board, and to do that we need to make sure we show that desire."
