We are delighted to announce that midfielders Kieran Millar and Dean Hawkshaw have agreed terms on deals to return to the club next season.

 

25-year-old Millar joined from East Fife last summer and went on to make 36 appearances in the centre of midfield.

 

Former Kilmarnock man Hawkshaw (22) only joined the Diamonds in March, but quickly shone in the reserve side and went on to catch the eye in his six first-team appearances at the end of the season.

 

Dean told airdriefc.com: “I’m delighted to be coming back after my time here last season.

 

“I was obviously disappointed not to make the play-offs, but hopefully we can hit the ground running this year and finish higher than we did last season.”

 

Manager Ian Murray is please that the midfield pair will be extending their stay.

 

He said: “Kieran has great energy and a fantastic attitude, and was a really important part of the squad last season whether playing or not. I’m very glad he’s agreed to re-sign, and we’re all looking forward to seeing him improve season on season.

 

“Dean is a young hungry player who came in and took his chance. He’s fully deserving of a new contract, and as we saw briefly last season he’s a player who the supporters will love to see get on the ball.”
