In a perfect month for the club, Ian Murray and Dale Carrick have scooped November’s SPFL Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards respectively.

 

Diamonds boss Ian has overseen a 100% win rate for his team with league wins over Dumbarton (3-1), Falkirk (2-1), Stranraer (2-0) and East Fife (4-0), which has seen Airdrie move to the top of the League One table. The Diamonds also recorded a 4-1 Scottish Cup win over derby rivals Albion Rovers to make it five wins out of five in November.

 

Ian told airdriefc.com: “It’s great for myself, the staff and the players. It takes an awful lot of hard work from everyone, so as delighted as I am to receive the award, it’s really recognition for what we’ve done as a club.

 

“Dale fully deserves his award for his contribution too, but it’s a team game - if Dale and I go out and play Raith Rovers ourselves this weekend, we get beat!”

 

Carrick is in agreement with his manager.

 

The striker, who has been in red-hot form with a superb goal at Stranraer alongside doubles against Dumbarton and East Fife, added: “It’s nice to win it, but like the gaffer says it’s a team game, and I couldn’t have done it without my team-mates!”
