Frontman Gallagher signs up
June 10, 2019
We are delighted to have agreed terms with former St Mirren and Dumbarton forward Calum Gallagher.
Former Rangers kid Calum worked under Diamonds manager Ian Murray at St Mirren, and the 24-year-old is pleased to be reunited with his old boss after finishing top scorer at the C&G Systems Stadium last season.
He told airdriefc.com: “I enjoyed my time working with Ian and I’m looking forward to doing so again.
“It was an easy decision to join Airdrie based on the size of the club, and the new hybrid system shows the ambition of the people in charge.
“I’m hoping to bring plenty of goals to the team - I enjoy the physical and technical aspects of playing up top, and in recent times I’ve become more clinical and I’ve been getting myself into better areas.
“I’ve no doubt the manager has built a squad capable of challenging for promotion - and on a personal note I want to better my scoring record from last season and push on in that regard.”
And manager Ian Murray added: “Having worked with Calum before I know he’s got an excellent attitude, and I’m looking forward to working with him again.
“He provides pace and a great work-rate, and after a good season for Dumbarton we’re hoping to see more of the same from him at Airdrie.”
