The Board of Directors concluded last week, once the earliest timeline for possible recommencement of our league was confirmed to be at least June 22, that it was not possible for the club to fulfil this season’s fixtures and had no choice but to agree with the conclusion of the league.

We do not accept that the league has been won, as the fixtures have not been fulfilled with Airdrieonians and others still able to be crowned champions of League One. We do accept however that a pragmatic conclusion had to be arrived at, due to the current unprecedented circumstances, in order to move forward and plan for next season.
 
Most of our squad including loan players are out of contract in early June. We have been advised by a senior medical professional that we will not play competitive football until August/September. Until then the club will have no income and is effectively in a form of business hibernation and will continue to be so until we have some form of certainty.
 
Now that the written resolution has been passed, we are able to move onto the important issue of league reconstruction. Please be assured that the Board of Directors will continue, as we have already, to push for the outcome which is most beneficial to everyone at Airdrieonians Football Club and the other member clubs unfairly affected by this season's outcome.
