Saint Euan joins on loan
June 20, 2019
We are delighted to announce the signing of St Johnstone winger Euan O’Reilly on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old joined the Perth club from Auchterarder Juniors in 2012, and has gained recognition in the form of Scotland Schoolboys caps as he progressed through the ranks at McDiarmid Park.
Joining up with his new team-mates for training tonight, Euan told airdriefc.com: “I enjoyed my time on loan at BSC in the Lowland League last season, so I was keen to get back out and play first-team games.
“Ian Murray was keen to bring me here, which was a big factor in my decision.
“I’m a fast and direct winger who can play on either side, and I try to get as many crosses and shots away as possible.
“I’m looking forward to contributing to the team - I hope I can have a good season and help Airdrie finish as far up the league as possible.”
Manager Ian Murray added: “Euan is a young player who stood out in the Lowland League whilst on loan there, so we are very happy that St Johnstone have given us this opportunity.
“We aim to improve Euan and introduce him to a higher level so he returns to McDiarmid Park with more experience.
“He’s quick, direct and very hungry to succeed. My thanks go to Tommy Wright at St Johnstone, and I look forward to working with Euan over the course of the season.”
