Midfielder Turner joins on loan
We are delighted to announce the loan signing of midfielder Kyle Turner from Dunfermline Athletic.
23-year-old Kyle has made 52 appearances for the Pars since joining from Stranraer in 2019, having already amassed some 138 appearances with the Stair Park club.
With a wealth of experience that belies his young age, Kyle will be a valuable addition to the Diamonds squad as the second part of the season gets underway.
The move came about following an agreement to allow Kyle MacDonald to remain at East End Park. Defender Kyle joined the Pars in January with the aim of returning to Airdrie on loan when the League One season resumed, but following discussions between the clubs MacDonald will now remain a Dunfermline player with Turner heading in the opposite direction.
Manager Ian Murray was pleased to bring in the dynamic midfielder.
“We’re really delighted to secure Kyle, after speaking to him I feel his hunger will help to push us on.
“He’s a player I’ve admired for some time, and we’re all looking forward to working with him.
“It was important to add quality over quantity, and I’m thankful to everyone involved in getting the deal done.”
And Kyle himself was happy to make the move to Airdrie, a team he knows well from his four years at Stranraer.
“I’m delighted to be joining up until the end of the season and I can’t wait to get started.
“I look forward to meeting my new team-mates and doing my best to help Airdrie get out of League One.”
Everyone at the club is pleased to welcome Kyle on board, and we thank Dunfermline Athletic for their assistance with the move.
Needless to say we also wish Kyle MacDonald all the best with his Pars career, which we know will be a resounding success.
