Diamond Dale departs
Dale Carrick has called time on his three-year spell at Airdrie after it was mutually agreed that the striker would move on.
27-year-old forward Carrick joined the Diamonds from Livingston in January 2018 and instantly endeared himself to supporters, scoring just 90 seconds into his debut against Stranraer.
There was much more to come from the former Hearts man, who leaves with a respectable record of 31 goals in 112 appearances.
Finishing this season as the club’s top scorer, Carrick attracted interest from other clubs and it was reluctantly agreed that the time was right for a change of scenery.
Dale told airdriefc.com: “I would like to thank all my team-mates, the fans, directors, owners and staff behind the scenes. I’d also like to make a special mention to Stevie Findlay, who brought me to this great club.
“The backing I got from day one was something special that I will always carry with me. I always left everything on the pitch, regardless of playing in different positions, coming off the bench or having a bad day - and I had a few of them!
“It’s pleasing to leave the club in a better position from when I first arrived, and making over 100 appearances was special for me on a personal note.
“I wish the club all the success and good luck in the future. Football is a strange but wonderful world where you never know what can happen, so maybe I’ll be back in some capacity in the future - so it’s a bye… for now!”
We would like to thank Dale for his contribution over his time at the Diamonds - a fantastic professional both on and off the pitch, we know his talent and attitude will continue to serve him well in the future, and he leaves with our very best wishes.
