Midfielder Frizzell joins the Diamonds
We are delighted to announce that the club have agreed terms on a deal with former Dumbarton and Kilmarnock midfielder Adam Frizzell.
23-year-old Adam made 40 senior appearances for Kilmarnock between 2015 and 2020, with loan spells at Livingston, Queen of the South and Dumbarton, before signing for the Sons last summer. The Greenock-born midfielder also has five Scotland under-20 caps to his name.
Agreeing a deal at the Penny Cars Stadium this morning, Adam told airdriefc.com: “I met with the manager a couple of weeks ago, and it was clear that we were in tandem in terms of our ambitions, so it was a no-brainer really!
“I like to score and create goals, and that’s what I intend to do here. Promotion is the bottom line - from playing against Airdrie the improvement is clear to see and their style of play suits me, so I’m pleased to come on board and I’m looking forward to pushing for promotion.”
Manager Ian Murray believes that Frizzell will add quality in the forward areas.
“It’s another good signing for us, Adam is a young, hungry player with Premier League experience.
“He’s another player we feel we can improve, but our main focus is on improving Airdrie and we feel Adam can do that with his attributes.
“We look forward to welcoming him back for pre-season.”
