We are delighted to announce that former Motherwell midfielder Matthew McDonald has agreed terms on a deal to join the club.

The 18-year-old, who can also play at full-back, impressed on trial in pre-season and was pleased to put pen to paper.

“I’m happy to be joining a club where I’ll get opportunities to play first-team football.

“Pre-season has been great so far and I can’t wait to get started properly!”

Manager Ian Murray added “Matthew was training with Motherwell’s first-team all of last season, and you can see that.”

“He’s a lovely footballer, and while I think we can add a bit more to his game in terms of going forward, I’m sure he’ll do well here.”
