Diamond Paul's kind gesture

The club received a very special piece of Airdrieonians history at Saturday's game with East Fife.

Diamonds fan Paul McCluskie is pictured handing Tommy Walker's 1975 Scottish Cup final shirt to chairman Martin Ferguson and Tommy's former manager Bobby Watson.

As well as playing in the 1975 final, Tommy made 300 appearances for the Diamonds and is also famed for scoring Airdrieonians first ever Premier League goal, an equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Rangers in August 1980.

Paul purchased the shirt after Tommy decided to auction it, and has very kindly allowed the club to display it for future hospitality guests to view in the Diamond Club.

The club would like to thank Paul for his wonderful gesture.
