We are pleased to announce that Airdrieonians will once again have an academy team playing in the Diamonds strip at Excelsior Stadium - led by former Airdrie star Alan Gow.

Initially the Academy will comprise an Under 18s team, with further development under consideration.

Ex-Diamonds striker Alan will be leading the newly formed academy team, with the U18s starting their season in August.

Alan has also been appointed as trustee and special advisor to the Airdrieonians Community Club, with a view to recruiting the best footballers in Airdrie and the surrounding towns and villages. Longer term, this link is intended to form a pathway from the Community Club to the Airdrieonians Academy team, and ultimately to the first team.
