We are delighted to announce the signing of 27-year-old midfielder Charlie Telfer.

The former Rangers and Dundee United midfielder joins the club subject to SFA approval after leaving Falkirk in the summer.

Telfer completed pre-season training with the Diamonds, featuring as a trialist in the NL Cup semi-final against Stirling Albion, which Airdrie won on their way to lifting the trophy.

Putting pen to paper on a deal at Excelsior Stadium, Charlie told airdriefc.com: “I’m really excited, it’s a good group of lads under Rhys and Dycey - their ideas are really good and it’s something that I’m excited to be a part of.

“I’m looking forward to joining up with the group and adding anything I can to help the team get to where we want to be.”

And manager Rhys McCabe, who played alongside a young Telfer at Ibrox, added: “I’m delighted to get Charlie in, it’s something we’ve been working on for the last couple of weeks. To get it over the line is obviously pleasing for us.

“Charlie can add to the squad in terms of quality and having that experience as well, he’ll be a great addition.”
