Sinky on board with new role
Aaron Taylor-Sinclair is the latest player to commit his future to the Diamonds - and the defender will combine playing duties with a first-team coaching role as Airdrie move up to the Championship.
Composed centre-back Taylor-Sinclair brought his considerable experience to the squad after joining from Falkirk last September, and his calm demeanour in the backline has seen him provide steady performances whenever called upon.
The former Partick Thistle and Wigan man opened his Diamonds goalscoring account with a powerful header in the 6-2 play-off semi defeat of his previous club, with solid displays in both legs of the final rounding off a fine season.
2022/23 also saw Taylor-Sinclair capped twice for Antigua & Barbuda, and the defender is currently on international duty once again as the Benna Boys prepare to face Guadeloupe in this evening’s CONCACAF Gold Cup play-off.
On his return to the Excelsior, the qualified coach will also take up a position with the Diamonds backroom staff, having impressed manager Rhys McCabe with his leadership over the season.
We’re delighted to have Aaron back, and look forward to him extending his influence to his new role as well as providing more top performances on the pitch - welcome back, Sinky!
