Loanee Lyall joins the Diamonds
We are pleased to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Arron Lyall, who joins on loan from Rangers for the remainder of the season, subject to SFA approval.
20-year-old Arron can operate in a variety of forward positions, and joins the squad having already played against them this season, in November’s SPFL Trust Trophy match against Rangers B.
Named as the Ibrox club’s Academy Player of the Month for December, as well as Academy Player of the Year in 2022/23, Arron is pleased with the opportunity to gain some first-team experience.
He told airdriefc.com: “I’m a box-to-box midfielder, I like to get in and about and score some goals. The style of play here suits my game, so I’m looking forward to it.
“I want to come here and play well, hopefully try and nail down a position and help the team get into those play-off positions - and the endgame is promotion.”
Manager Rhys McCabe was pleased to secure his target.
“We’ve been trying for a long time to get Arron in, I think he can bring real quality to the team.
“He can play in a number of the forward positions and I think he’ll be an asset to the squad. He’s hungry and he wants to play competitive first-team football, which I think we’ve shown we can offer.
“We’re thrilled to have him, and we’d like to thank Dave McCallum and the staff at Rangers for making it smooth and sorting it quickly.”
Welcome to the Diamonds, Arron!
