We are delighted to announce the signing of versatile midfielder Terrell Agyemang on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough.

The 21-year-old Englishman is comfortable in an attacking midfield role and in various positions in the backline, and joins the Diamonds with an impressive pedigree having spent time in the Charlton Athletic, Manchester City and Middlesbrough youth systems while also featuring for Hartlepool United on loan.

Making his loan move to the Albert Bartlett Stadium, Terrell told airdriefc.com: “It’s a new challenge, so I’m looking forward to it. I’ve heard about how Airdrie play, so that attracted me a lot.

“I just want to come and enjoy my football again and get playing.

“I’d say I’m quite technical, I like to get on the ball a lot and get play moving. I can bring energy, and I’m quite versatile in playing positions - so yeah, energy and technique!”

Manager Rhys McCabe was delighted to secure a player he believes can quickly become a fan-favourite.

“Terrell is a very technical player, having been brought up in some big academies including Man City, where he played with the Under-23s and trained with the first team.

“He’s at a stage now where he’s really ready to kick on and play. He understands what we’re trying to do here, and he brings real quality - I think the fans will be delighted with this one.

“He gives you a goal threat, and can play as an eight, a wing-back, or a full-back - so he can cover a few positions, which is a bonus.”
